A film by Reinhard Joksch
It is one of the oldest trade routes of human kind. The sea route, more than 10,000 miles long, enabled a flourishing trade, missionaries and conquerors have followed its path, and treasure fleets have been sailing along the shores. Still today is Singapore one of the most important harbors of a global trade. And still today is Indonesia with more than 50,000 miles coastline a hot spot for contraband and piracy. Latest archaeological findings and discoveries provide new evidence. The quest for wealth and the spread of philosophical and religious ideas brought an interconnection, that led to impressive cultural, political, and religious change in each civilization involved.
